Tony Yazbeck joins the cast of Chicago as Billy Flynn beginning August 29 at the Ambassador Theatre. He is replacing Christopher Sieber, who is about to embark on the national tour of La Cage aux Folles.
Yazbeck's Broadway credits include Gypsy, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, A Chorus Line, Never Gonna Dance and Oklahoma! He has appeared off-Broadway in On the Town, The Apple Tree, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Pardon My English and Fanny Hill. He has also toured with Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie Get Your Gun and Doctor Dolittle.
Chicago currently stars Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Nikka Graff Lanzarone as Velma Kelly, Chris Sullivan as Amos Hart and Carol Woods as Mama Morton. Former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and Chicago veteran Amra-Faye Wright will join the cast as Roxie and Velma, respectively, on September 4. The Tony-winning revival will become the fourth longest-running show in Broadway history on August 27, when it surpasses A Chorus Line's record.
